Let's be honest, one of the hardest aspects of Tabletop gaming is the time required to physically sit down and play. With the nature of Murphy’s Law, if a player can be absent, they will be. And when they are, rather than try to pilot their character and shoehorn a session in, a DM/GM can pilot the rest of the team through a One Door Dungeon.

The intent behind these guides is to act as fillers or one-shots when a party member is unavailable and you want to keep the party playing. Or perhaps, they are simply to blow the dust off some dice and play a character you wrote in the margins of a notebook.

Each One Door Dungeon will come with simple how to instructions, maps, loot tables, lore blocks and options to scale it to higher party levels.

Welcome to Tamsford, home of The Tavern of the One Door. This entire sprawling city was built around the Tavern hundreds of years ago and has since become a thriving center for adventure and trade.

Beneath the Tavern, lies a magical door that randomly changes both in appearance and what lays beyond it every few days. The Tavern owner invites adventurers to defeat the door's many surprises. If the adventurers succeed they are bound for riches and glory.

The adventurers aren't in this alone though. The entire economic system of the city was built around the Tavern and its door. As such many have built a business around the door. From patrons who are willing to bid on the door for the party to shop keeps trying to sell new wares, many wish to see them succeed and bring back the riches from below.

Each morning the entire city holds its collective breath as they wait to see what today's door holds. A dark stone door may represent some nefarious dark force beyond, a door made of tanned leather may indicate some tribal monster.

So, head on down to the Tavern of the One Door and cross the threshold into your next adventure.

The setting is an original idea by Hunter Steffens, @Forkules on Twitter, be sure to drop him a follow and stay up to date on the next additions to his awesome world.
